STEPHANIE R. ABRAHAMS Stephanie Abrahams is a fine art painter living in lovely Laguna Beach, California. Although she was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, she has embraced the year-round outdoor life in California by painting plein-air landscapes in various locations throughout southern California. Working mostly by commission, she paints landscapes, cityscapes, and the figure. The paintings can be created from a photo reference or on-site at the location of preference. A sample of what you will see on the website are the plein-air landscapes which are painted in an impasto style that is the result of using the palette knife. Another series of paintings include landscapes and city views of european vacation spots. In addition, paintings from an exhibition called "Americana" depict figures, mostly of women, from the '30's through the '80's enjoying the good life. These figures are sketched-out and painted in vintage hues of oils and acrylics. A few of my "Americana" figurative paintings will be presented at Laguna Coffee Company in May and June 2009. I have previously only shown landscapes there so it should be a nice change. And we will be having a nice First Thursday Artwalk party there June 4th....come by to enjoy art, wine, and jazz! Also, there will be fresh palette landscapes again at Brian Wisely's fitness studio "The Well" in Boat Canyon in May and June 2009. And, Prudential Reality on Broadway in North Laguna will display my palette landscapes sometime in Summer '09.
