STEPHANIE R. ABRAHAMS Stephanie Abrahams is a fine art painter living in lovely Laguna Beach, California. Although she was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, she has embraced the year-round outdoor life in California by painting plein-air landscapes in various locations throughout southern California. Working mostly by commission, she paints landscapes, cityscapes, and the figure. The paintings can be created from a photo reference or on-site at the location of preference. A sample of what you will see on the website are the plein-air landscapes which are painted in an impasto style that is the result of using the palette knife. Another series of paintings include landscapes and city views of european vacation spots. In addition, paintings from an exhibition called "Americana" depict figures, mostly of women, from the '30's through the '80's enjoying the good life. These figures are sketched-out and painted in vintage hues of oils and acrylics. For Fall 2009, Brian Wisely's fitness studio "The Well" in Boat Canyon will have a few of my vacation landscapes on display as well as plein-air landscapes of local spots.
